The 61st Mechanized Infantry
A semi-serious Arma 3 mil-sim unit. Real structure, real roles, persistent campaign.
Who we are
The 61st was founded in 2019 by a small group of operators tired of pickup-group chaos. Today the unit runs as a structured combined-arms element: light infantry squads, dedicated specialists, and an air-ground integration team that works the same battlespace every week.
We're semi-serious. That means we take the simulation seriously — radio discipline, formations, tactics, the fundamentals — but we don't pretend we're a real military. We're here to run good ops with people we trust.
“Show up, kit up, send it. Trust the man on your left and the man on your right.”
Our campaigns run for weeks at a time. What happens on Sunday changes what we run on Friday. Squads carry intel forward, casualties matter, and the friction of one op feeds the briefing of the next.
Command structure is flat where it can be and tight where it has to be. Leadership isn't a chest-thumping exercise — it's a job, with checklists, mentors, and accountability.
Dedicated roles
Pick what you want to be. Train into it. Run with it every op.
Rifleman
The backbone of the unit. Fire team primary. Discipline, accuracy, and steady fundamentals.
Squad Lead
Owns the squad. Calls movement, fire control, and reports up. Trained on FRAGOs and IA.
Medic
Keeps the squad in the fight. ACE medical, triage under fire, evac coordination.
Machine Gunner
Suppression and sector control. Holds the line so the rest of the team can maneuver.
JTAC
Talks to air and arty. 9-lines, terminal control, BDA. The unit's long arm.
Pilot
Rotary and fixed-wing. CAS, transport, recon. Operates with the air-ground integration team.
Crewman
Operates the Bradley IFV and Abrams MBT. Drives, gunner, commander — the unit's armor wing.
EOD
Defuses IEDs, breaches obstacles, neutralizes UXO. Hands-on, high-risk, mission-critical.
Engineer
Field fortifications, demolitions, mine warfare, vehicle recovery. Builds it up or blows it up.
Operations
Two ops a week. Main op carries the campaign; side-op feeds back into it.
Sundays
7:30 PM EST / 4:30 PM PST
The week's main event. Full unit attendance expected. This is where the campaign moves forward — objectives carry weight, casualties carry over.
Fridays
8:30 PM EST / 5:30 PM PST
Smaller-scale campaign tie-ins. Recon, sabotage, raids — whatever the brass needs done before Sunday. What happens here changes Sunday's briefing.
